HOW LONG WILL THIS CASE TAKE?

The information contained below is based upon our interpretation of the statutes, our experience in family law and what we think most judges will order with this experience in mind.

Nothing in family law court moves quickly.

A few years ago, it could take up to 22 months to finish a dissolution (divorce) action. Today, due to some rule changes it generally takes 5-7 months (could be somewhat shorter) if the case is not complicated and things go smoothly. However, with that being said, judges will in fact try to move matters quickly if it is possible. If you have any questions, please call our office as we would be happy to advise you further.
